I’m Michael Paul Rodriguez, a [Silicon Valley-based] filmmaker with a passion for crafting stories that explore human connection, a thurst for adventure, finding the horrors of the human psyche, while pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling with the technology available today. My work blends striking visuals, amazing performances, innovative camera techniques to create imagry that resonates deepth, provokes thought, and inspire wonder and mystery.
A graduate in Cinema from SFSU with 27 years of experience in directing, cinematography, editing, and compositing. I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with talented crews, traveling to many locations nation-wide, and working with many wonderful people. My approach is rooted in showing that every frame captured, and every camera movement should tell a story, a commitment to raw emotion over polish, and I thrive on turning ideas into moving images, capturing the beauty in the chaos.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me outdoors camping and hiking, sketching concept ideas, playing a new game (PC and Tabletop), or watching new and classic films. I’m always open to new projects and collaborations—let’s tell a story together.
